"I decided to write this article after I received an e-mail through the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) listserve that asked students with background in cancer to select a topic and submit a draft for publication.  Since the research that I have done has been mostly concentrated on anti-inflammatory compounds as a target for cancer therapy, I decided to write an article on the effects of COX-2 inhibitors.  After doing a literature search I found a myriad of studies trying to elucidate the effects of these compounds on mostly all types of cancer.  The main one was colon cancer, but research was also performed on breast, prostate, esophageal, uterine, etc.  I wrote a very comprehensive essay on the topic and it got selected for publication."
